Why Curacao should absolutely be your next vacation destination (and why I’m so excited!)
Okay, listen: if you’ve never been to Curaçao, you’re really missing something. This island is a dream come true, and I can’t tell you enough how special it is. Let me take you into my enthusiasm and explain to you exactly why Curaçao is the perfect place for your next vacation. I promise you, after reading this you’ll want to pack your bags right away!
1. The weather is always perfect
Really, in Curaçao you never have to doubt that the weather will be nice. It is always warm and sunny, with temperatures between 25 and 31 degrees. And even if there is some rain (which rarely happens), it will be clear blue again in no time. No hassle with raincoats or sweaters – just sunscreen and flip-flops.
2. The beaches are just next level
Curaçao has more than 35 beaches, and each beach has its own vibe. Want to relax in a quiet place? Then go to Cas Abao or Grote Knip – truly paradisiacal! Or find the fun at Mambo Beach, where you can find fun beach bars and restaurants. And that water … so clear blue it almost looks fake. Perfect for swimming, snorkeling or just floating around.
3. Snorkeling and diving: hello underwater paradise!
If you like snorkeling or diving, Curaçao is the place to be. The underwater world is so beautiful here! Think of colorful coral reefs, tropical fish and even shipwrecks that you can discover. And to top it off, you can snorkel with sea turtles at Playa Piskado. How cool is that?
4. Willemstad: It doesn’t get more colorful than this
The capital city of Willemstad is truly a picture. Those colorful houses on the Handelskade are a treat to see (and super Instagrammable). But Willemstad has more than just beautiful buildings – it is also a city full of life, culture and friendliness. Stroll the streets of the Pietermaai district, visit local markets and soak up the atmosphere of this unique part of the Caribbean.
5. You feel history everywhere
Curaçao has a rich history that is reflected everywhere. For example, visit the Kura Hulanda Museum to learn more about the island’s slavery past, or discover Fort Amsterdam in Willemstad. The great thing is that Curaçao combines that history with a modern vibe – a perfect blend of old and new.
6. The nightlife is fantastic
If you like to party, Curacao is the place to be! Especially at Jan Thiel Beach and Mambo Beach Boulevard you can enjoy beach parties with live music, DJs and delicious cocktails. And even if partying is not your thing, in the evening you can relax in one of the cozy beach bars.
7. Nature surprises you every time
Curaçao is more than just beaches – the nature here is truly impressive! Go hiking in Christoffel Park and climb Christoffel Mountain for an insane view of the island. Or visit Shete Boka, where the rugged coastline and crashing waves show how powerful nature can be.

I cannot stress enough how hospitable the locals are on Curaçao. Everyone greets you with a smile and they are happy to help if you have questions or need tips on what to do on the island. You immediately feel welcome – like coming home to a tropical paradise.
9. The local cuisine is to be savoured
You really must try some local dishes when you are in Curaçao! Think stoba (a delicious stew), pastechi (a kind of stuffed patties) or freshly caught fish straight from the grill. And don’t forget to try a glass of rum or a cocktail with Blue Curaçao – it’s just part of the deal!

Whether you want to relax on the beach, soak up culture in Willemstad or get active with snorkeling or hiking – Curaçao has everything you’re looking for in a vacation. No matter what type of traveler you are; this island never disappoints.
