It’s official: we leave on Aug. 25, 2025! Our trip will start in Jakarta, after a stopover in Bangkok. This feels like a huge milestone – after months of dreaming and planning, there is now a concrete departure date. From that moment on, we will be guided by the adventure, nature and culture we encounter along the way.

We have already done a lot of research. Blogs, TV shows (Netflix & 3 on Reis), travel guides – we have gone through everything to discover the most beautiful places. But how do you decide in advance how long you want to stay somewhere? That’s something we’re running into now. We know that it is only on the spot that we will really feel whether we want to stay somewhere longer or travel on more quickly. One thing is certain: when our visa expires, we have to move on. 😄

Super fun news: my e-book about Curaçao has already sold a few times! 🎉 I shared it in some Facebook groups about Curaçao and that seems to be working well. In addition, the e-book is now also on bol.com and Etsy, so I’m curious to see if any orders come in there soon. Exciting to see how this develops!

Traveling costs money, and of course we had made up a budget for our trip. But sometimes unexpected expenses come around the corner. Our roof on our house urgently needs to be replaced – a hefty expense we would have preferred to spend on something else. Fortunately, we are able to tackle insulation at the same time, and as a result we will get a premium refund. That means that hopefully sometime during our trip we will suddenly see a nice financial windfall appear in our account!

With the departure date approaching, there are many things to take care of. How do we pack? What stuff do we really take with us on our world trip? And how do we prepare Noah for this big change? Enough to write about in the next update!
